D.R.I.V.E

Corporations spend big money in Washington D.C. to influence members of Congress and push their anti-worker agenda in hopes of increasing their profits by gaining favorable legislation. Corporate America outspends Organized Labor on politics by more than 15 to 1.

Teamsters have been able to stop attacks on work rules and legislation with an effective grassroots political action program --- called D.R.I.V.E.

However, corporations continue to push their legislative agenda harder than ever. That means we still have a tremendous amount of work to do. We also have to move forward with our own programs of fighting U.S. job elimination actions resulting from NAFTA; preserving and improving wage and pension benefits; insuring worker safety and preserving the standards that are in place now.

D.R.I.V.E. is funded through you voluntary contributions of as little as $1.00 or $2.00 a week. Your voluntary contribution can be made through weekly payroll deduction.

Your voluntary support of DRIVE will help us with our efforts to elect political candidates who have a proven voting record of supporting working people and their issues -- regardless of what political party they belong to.

D.R.I.V.E. is non-partisan and independent from any political party

Your voluntary contribution will be used for:

  1. Voter registration programs; financial support for political candidates    who have a proven record of working with us - not against us.
  2. Keeping members and their families informed on key issues; providing voter guides showing voting records of your Senators and Representative in the U.S. Congress.
  3. Rallies, news conferences, advertisements, and phone banks to build support on issues of concern to working people.

D.R.I.V.E. is the political arm of your Union. This is the way we help our members choose the people that can help you and your family. If we help these people then they can help us. This help can not be given by the use of your dues-- so we ask our members to help us help ourselves. Your contributions are used for politics only. We need your help.
