Varney Richmond is a 28 year member of teamsters local 957. He was the Secretary- Treasurer for local 957 for 12 years; he was a business agent for 3 years and a organizer for 2years.Varney worked for Pepsi-Cola for10 years, (8 of those he was the steward) prior to starting work at Local 957. In January 2005 he was appointed by the Ohio Conference Of Teamsters as  Chairman for the State Of Ohio for the Brewery and Soft Drink Conference. in February 2005 Varney was elected as Policy Committee Member on the I.B.T. National Brewery and Soft Drink Conference. Currently Varney also serves as policy committee member in the I.B.T National Bakery Conference and has held that position since 1999. He also received an Associates Degree in Political Science from Sinclair community College. Varney was elected President of teamsters Local 957 in October 2005. In January of 2006 he started his term.
